That balloon just looked rather nice. It's not mine! and it's not the globe I have had as my display recently. I am just experimenting with how to get this system to work. I'm getting there! dick
I'm a medical doctor and clergyman in Birmingham, England and founded a political party called The Common Good. I qualified as a doctor in 1970 and did surgery in London, Southend, Belfast and Bristol, then trained for the Church of England ministry at St John's College Nottingham: ordained in 1977. Curate in Derby and then junior surgeon there and Bangor Gwynedd and Birmingham as orthopaedic registrar. Travel to Nigeria as medical student and to Israel, the US and Canada and to India overland. I worked for the release of christian prisoners of conscience in Soviet Russia 1985-9 and to resolve the civil war in Sudan 1993-7 travelling to north and south Sudan and Kenya to meet government and rebel leaders. A peace deal was eventually signed and a referendum is due in early 2011. I have wanted a humane, just and purposeful society in Britain since the winter of 1973-4 when there was electricity only 3 days a week. I wanted the church to have something important to say about it but felt frustrated that the church often seemed more interested in its own internal politics than to try to heal the nation's life in any meaningful way.
